Soooo... today I bought these shoes. They are Jeffrey Campbell 'Samantha' Pumps.

I've been obsessing over them for a while. Can you see why? I also got them half off, which never hurts. They're being shipped, so I'll post pictures when they come in. Hopefully they fit and everything works out because I think they could go with ANYTHING. I am a little worried about comfort, but at $60, I'm not sure you can beat that with a stick, as my mother would say.

To New Beginnings

So I've finally decided to officially start blogging. Not sure exactly what that means for me yet, but I envision it including several things:

1. My varied (and generally successful) kitchen escapades
2. My musings on clothes and fashion in general

and

3. My observations about the world around me.

Hopefully, at least one of these things will be interesting to someone besides myself. Especially those of you whom I consider to be my friends and might one day hope to benefit from the results of item # 1.

Today I'll start by sharing my plans for Thanksgiving dinner. I'll follow up tomorrow with pictures and recipes.

I will be making:

Mashed Potatoes
Sourdough-Cranberry Stuffing
Broccoli Au Gratin
Pumpkin Cheesecake
Pecan Pie
Apple Pie with Crumb Topping

I assume that other people with be making the other important components of this meal, like the turkey. We'll see how that goes. I actually had to remind my mother that we would need potatoes for the mashed potatoes.

This should also be interesting since it is the first Thanksgiving with only one oven in the house. I'm going to have to watch my timing pretty carefully. I'm going into full-on domestic goddess mode tomorrow since I NEED to finish painting/organizing my room before I literally drive myself insane(r).
